Funny Gil, I was going past one of those lollie machines yesterday and thought I recognised boiled lollies in it. They weren't of course, but it did remind me of them.
Musk sticks, straps of licorice - didn't you just love going into a shop and seeing the jars of lollies all lined up to stare at and wish you had more money?
There is a shop in Battery Point, Hobart that is set up exactly like that will huge jars of lollies and sweets. It's wonderful 🙂

I remember humbugs, straps of licorice, musk sticks & tiny little round lollies that came in a mixture of pink and white, they were yummy and have no idea what they were called, but can see them even now.
Use to get them from a little lollie shop.
I remember the hearts with writing on.......
I remember mint leaves that tasted like mint.......nothing like what they sell today & have the hide to call mint leave.
