Morning everyone,
I havent been in for awhile.......back problems are stopping me from sitting too long.
It is great to remember how life use to be with our grandparents when we were growing up.
I can remember all the things mentioned by Zaidee...........I use to like the dripping on bread.....cant say I would like it now though.
Life was so much simplier back then, I miss it, but one thing stands out about my grandparents.........they had a simple life (as it was back then), they worked hard and they were always happy.

Richo, if you are losing your posts you may like to type your post in Word, and cut and paste onto the board.
My best friend from primary school days phoned me yesterday and we talked about how we budgeted by meeting for our office lunch break in Bridge Street, Sydney and sharing two crumpets with honey and a pot of tea for two shillings.
We had decided to save all our money towards buying a house together. We couldn't do it independently and a woman couldn''t get a mortgage no matter what her profession and salary, and had to pay cash for a house.. Some years down the track we were still short. I took what I had saved to the bank and was one of the first women ever to get a mortgage. From memory, the criteria was a minimum of 1/3 down and a payment which was no more than a 1/4 of your gross salary. (I also think that the bank manager had a thing for me too ;-)).
How times have changed.

On a really serious note.....how many of you out there have completed an Advanced Care Directive? This is an important document. Google is your friend.
