I think they should have a sort of middle man/woman to help struggling 60 somethings navigate the tortuous paths of "getting the pension". I was put off for about 3 years by all the gobbledegook we had to go through.....though we had a non operating Co. and a non profit Family Trust etc. which didn't make things easier

Centrelink are a real pain, OH went with his son today to get son on Youth Allowance..........*we cant do that now, you will have to wait 2 weeks, someone will phone you and do a *phone interview*, then you will be required to come to one of our office's and do a *face to face* interview & *then we will see if you are elligable*.....
Dont think my stepson was too impressed.
They dont bother me now that I am on the age pension........I am 7yrs older than hubby.

I went to c/link homepage today and they are changing it all, so it will be even more confusing for those that use it.

I'll be interested in what you find out Richo, I've never heard of it.
The other day I picked up a parcel for some new track suits, got them home and discovered they were made for elephants, so have to return them.
I rang the company and was told that if I pay for the postage to return the clothes they will send out replacements for 'free'.
I thought, now, that's odd, so went back to their booklet and found that they have a special return address REPLY PAID, that the woman on the phone made sure I didn't know about. GrrrrrrrX-(
I hate this new 'if they don't ask, don't tell 'em' game they are all playing.
I suppose we have the upper hand because we have all lived long enough to know this goes on and not to trust anyone.
Sigh 😞

I tell what I have done. At present I have under floor heating that is costing a fortune to run and with electricity due to go up again I have been concerned about it.
Anyway I had an electrician come today to check the thermostat and while he was here (and he didn't charge me) he suggested I have a reverse cycle heater installed in the lounge/kitchen instead.
I have been thinking about it, but doubt I would have done anything had he not turned up. I have told him to go ahead... I am a squirrel and have just enough money tucked away to cover the price. it will certainly cut down on the bluddy electrical bill.
Of course he's going away for two weeks ... typical or wot?
