Jv when I was in the Airforce I lived at the base her in townsville the old sleeping quarters were full of asbestos. The airforce still puts personell in these sleeping quarters they figure it would be cheaper paying people off in said amount of years for asbestos related health concerns rather than pulling the buildings down.
also the old Sergeants Mess (where the Sergeants go to eat) is full of asbestos they found this out when they were about the install a/c this going back about 1992 they all had to evacuate the mess this was in the middle of lunch. It stayed that way for about a year or more I reckon till they figured out what to do.
Stayed up late last night watching movies and reading my book. My latest book is called Motherless daughters I identify a lot with the author and the experiences the people she interviewed are experiencing from losing a mother esp at a young age.
I would really like to establish a group for motherless daughters in Townsville. I just think it has such a profound effect on ones identity when a mother dies esp at a young age. these feelings also reoccur at significant events throughout ones life when a Mum is not present. Its like you never cease to greave over a lost Mum.
I have to go do the darn shopping in 33 degree heat 😞
Glad to c ya back Dame.

How are you and C doing, good I hope:)
Well Kerry I am finally going to get up your way soon, I think I told you my son is in Townsville and I would love to meet up with you and take you and C out for lunch or something if that would be ok with you?
I am planning on being up there within the next couple of months and staying for a week so would be lovely to finally get to see you.
You can check with Purps, I think I am quite respectable lol

not sure if you've been to Townsville but it is a different heat to down South. In the words of Willie Mason when he arrived a few weeks back, 'Jeez its hot up here' aint that the truth, lol.

Still at Bay of Fires and will be for at least a week. R seems to have taken to this camping thing. Me too. So lovely and quiet. Have flushing loos here as well. We have our own loo and shower as I might have told you previously. Only 13ks from town. R goes to get the paper and bread. Plus fill up with water. So all is great. Oh and the beach is so beautiful. Crystal clear water and no large waves. Very calm. Water is a mite chilly though. Went for a paddle yesterday. Looks like rain for a couple of days. So will catch up on some dvds and reading.
Have a great day everyone. BBL

JV or was it miss I get confused lol I'm in the Alpine region (near falls creek) only a bit of thunder and lighting as well as showers over night.
I saw the photos of Melbourne after the storm, wow amazing the damage mother nature can do in only a matter of minutes!
Kezza, never got the chance to say it earlier but thanks for posting the article re bipolar and Schizophrenia.
lil prince is on a rampage this morning lol, princesses are all being really helpful. They are just such a joy. People say I must ahve my hands full with their disability but I tell you I am one lucky muma. They have a terrific disposition.
I'm recoving really well, its hard to hold back on doing things but I'm doing housework little by little now. I enjoy being able to lay down in bed and watch telly though along side eating my favorite food chocolate! lol
I'll have to go on a diet when I am better!!!
Anyway have a terrific long weekend all 🙂
