Thanks everyone for the welcome onboard.
Darki I hate it when you have to take a sick friend to the vet so I just hope things have gone well Today for Gem.
Ken, Richo Its a little early yet , November but I will get onto them a little early and probably ring first to find out what documents to take with me . Maybe I should take all my files and just sleep there until it gets done!
Another of those names from my past. Jimmy Hendrix sang about it and a friend of mine took so much of it he was left seing the world with a purple tinge. Purple Haize and Dark Side of the Moon
a couple of things in my life I won't forget. I seem to have survived those days with most of my hearing and grey cells intact.
Though there is a lot of grey about me now, well not so much on top but you know.
Walking group tomorrow, if it wasn't for them I would be lazy and say crap weather ,sleep in.
I have had dogs most of my life and they always woke me up in the morning and got me out and about walking.
Last year I was able to go to nepal and walk in the Himalyas for 6 days and it was a great experience .
I hope every one gets to travel overseas at least once .
Cheers for now
Mal

Good morning at long last ... it's been a very hard time over the past few days. Gem is doing well, but I have had to put a mattress down on the floor downstairs as she is unable to go up and down and I have done my back in.
Would you believe that for 12 days I was carrying her up and down the stairs and then just as I was going into the vet with her my back gave on me... bluddy hall!
She was home the same evening so the three of us - Harry the Heeler too - camped in the lounge. Poor little thing had a dreadful night of pain and groans and misery, mostly the anaesthetic I think.
Anyway she's definitely on the mend now. I had to put a crepe bandage around her knee as she disapproved of the vet's surtures and thought she could do a better job herself :^O
It is full time care for the next ten days until the sutures are out, so thank goodness it is cold and wet outside and I don't feel guilty for just staying put.
HELLO MAL and welcome, so lovely to have another golden oldie with us... love your comment 'there's a lot of grey around me' :^O - the dry flower arrangement? and 'OH! who is that strange person in the mirror?' sort of thing.
Thank you all for you wishes about Gem, every little bit helps when it's a love little one doesn't it.
The lounge looks like a hospital room with Gem reclining in my... oops - OUR bed and Harry on one of the dog beds. I have escaped to the recliner chair out of harms way.
Right on richo... there's trouble in them thar hills :^O
Catch you later

morning all.
Sorry to call you Heather, Mal:^O
Rosie is doing well....favourite pastime, ripping up newspaper and toilet rolls..and trying to get the older dogs to play with her, to no avail....ignore ignore.
Great to hear Gem is in recovery mode....:-x
I love the weekend....nothing to do unless we want to. All the week is taken up with visits to podiatrists and docs, to dress OH diabetic ulcer on his toe which is slowly healing..The podiatrist says we have to fork out $1000 for special orthotics and shoes, to stop callouses etc, which eventually break down and turn into ulcers........o the joys of old age! at least I bet no one else has thousand dollar shoes!:^O

Hi everyone 🙂 hope you have a nice day today
I am just about to drag myself into shower and wash my hair. It absolutely exhausts me.
Funny though, you feel so good afterwards why am I fighting it?
For many nights now I am waking up every couple of hours and sometimes not getting back to sleep. Happens every winter which is why I am always keen for Daylight savings... the nights are not so long LOL
May have a drive today, dunno. Poor shatzi needs to get out of here. Poor little trapped at home thing. walkies is not enough she wasn to go in the car every chance she gets.
I only have to say CAR and she RUNS to the door, whimpering if we take too long LOL
Have a good one 🙂

Darki, so good that Gema is on the mend. Now all we have to do is to get you sorted out. The way a person treats their pets is important to me....it is a sign of their character and decency. You are a lovely person Darki.
Beani, I know what you mean with Shatzi. My two Maltese X go bananas when I say the word CAR. The only way I can stop them getting cabin fever with this weather is to pop them into car and drive around the block. They think they have had a trip.
