Putas are strange devices -posted before i had finished.

Have -over the years got some goodies.

Dont mind if i come home empty handed,

the next one could be the crown jewels or

a missing painting by someone famous..........Richo.

... or a Ming vase someone found in a rubbish tip.  Someone recognised it, and it sold at Sotherby's for 43 MILLION dollars 😮

Oh to be that lucky - and that knowledgeable ... sigh!

One day Richol I hope it happens to you 🙂

Yes gil, remember the butter wrappings too.  Oh and sponge cakes.. and scones with jam and cream.

Did you ever get up to Blackheath where there was a small cafe that sold the best ever scones with jam and cream?

Yesterday I planted out 5 Grevilleas and have another one to do today... I am slowly blocking off the neighbours... I get very sick of seeing their house out my front windows... trees and bushes are far more acceptable 🙂

Have a good day everyone.

night darki and everyone....talk in the morning:-x

Morning all 🙂  nuffin' to say really unless others come in to add something...

Morning gilli  xx

Yesterday I planted out 5 Grevilleas and have another one to do today... I am slowly blocking off the neighbours... I get very sick of seeing their house out my front windows... trees and bushes are far more acceptable

Darki,.....And the beautiful native birds they attract.  I verge on being paranoid about my privacy and the noise from neighbouts.  This is why I purchased my holiday house in a mini rainforest, full of native critters.....heaven on a stick.  I rarely go down to my main home  on the Sydney northern beaches (my back gate opens to the surf beach reserve).  My id gives it away.  I just love where I am now..

arvo...my baby boys bday today...43....

I love where I am too freshy....mini rainforest on one border and I'm encouraging one on the other border...

Unfortunately I have my 'horse paddock'...about 1/3 acre...covered in ageratum...looks very nice but it it a weed up in in Qld.

can't see any neighbours at all.   bliss.

I remember that beach well freshie, but I was horrified the last time I flew up to Sydney to see just how ruined the whole of the northern beaches are with all the high rise buildings perched on the cliffs.

My days spent down there were back in the 1950s and 1960s when there was still bush and headlands and beautiful private beaches with little on them except perhaps cabins, like Bilgowlah..

My grandfather owned a cottage at Collaroy where the main road was two lanes wide and it had a milkbar and cinema and a few other shops and it was a quick step over to the beach... now it's over run and over populated and utterly spoiled...

So good on you for finding a hide-away somewhere else, but I bet if you tried to sell your beach place you would be inundated with offers :^O

Yes I have lots of small birds in the garden (and no cat), so I just keep planting things I know they will like.  I have blue wrens that nest under the floor boards of my verandah or in the bushes close to the house...  willy wag tails, black birds, finches, sparrows, pardelots, honey eaters, then bigger birds like cockatoos (black and white ones), ravens and also kookaburras and finally we get up to the big ones like sea eagles and hawks...  It's all go down here :^O

I do get wallabies too but they are in my bush which I have fenced off from the garden - they, the possoms and the quolls and I have an agreement, they can have the bush and I'll have the other three acres of garden... It seems to work.

I planted out another grevillea today.  She's called 'Molly' and only grows to about a metre, but she looks so pretty.

Then I splashed out and planted primulas just for the colour.

Hope everyone is getting along okay 🙂

bliss indeed gil, and that is what I am going to have in a couple of years when this lot has grown up... I can't wait.

I lived at Bilgola Heights about 40 years ago....lovely and quiet...Avalon beach too.

Thanks for the spelling gil, I couldn't remember it :^O

The only thing I remember about Bilgola heights was the huge bush fire that raged up there in about 1946.

My parents and I were staying with a friend who had a cottage on the beach and we could see the fire clearly.  I have to admit I was somewhat scared, but of course it didn't rush down and grab us all :^O
