I got out in 1992 as a Steward did the same job as a Civvi for 7 years and than joined the RAAF Reserves as a Clerk joined the full time RAAF in 1997 and did my clerks course however I was preggers at the time and being a single mum and in the Airforce with no assistance is no joy as in going out bush for 2 weeks what to do with son, lol. As well as breast feeding that woulda been fun out bush milking the boob, hahaha.
However jobs were much more plentiful back in 1992..
Just seen a young bloke walk past that I knew from my days as a Youth Worker he's really come along he's doing a placement for youth working, he's a great kid I', glad he has sorted himself out I really liked him,...

Just a quick post to let you know our grandson is doing well. He is going to be okay thank goodness. I rang the hospital and spoke to our son. Not happy with him but that is another story. Thank you everyone for your well wishes.
We are at Normanton. Got here this afternoon.
Spent last night at Cloncurry and I was too tired to get the lappy out and post. Was asleep by 8.30 and slept all night. Then had a nana nap this afternoon. Feeling really tired the last few days.
Hoping to get a bit of fishing in and maybe catch my first fish.
Anyway the weather is great and I am enjoying myself immensely. Catch up with you later. Take care.

Hi Nefertiti........and yes service life is marvellous and civvie street just so different.......had a phone call from my son hes got about 2 months work......hes sweating on some other classified job coming through is short listed fingers crossed.
And yes not easy at the best of time with a little child trying to arrange the best of care etc etc.........so so sorry that you are doing it so super duper tough......lets hope you get good news like my boy super soon........yes would be great if you lived on the coast would love to catch up for a meal with you both etc
Yes i bet you had a grin on your face re the young man that has turned himself around.........its marvellous........when in the corporate world i was involved full time helping young men and woman like that........now my daughter in law the angel in the family is helping aboriginal kiddies that have chosen the glue and petrol path 😞

I am hoping today brings an end to the round of illness here! So sick of tissues, cough meds, etc etc not to mention sooky men!
I just spent my morning booking flights for a family wedding in Hobart in 2 weekends time! We are going to make a 4 day trip of it. Now, all I need to do is book the accommodation. My poor credit card will be on fire. 😞

All better from my flu - thanks - and *sigh* back at work - flat out - but I'm not really complaining, as I have work unlike others!:-)
Glad to hear your grandson doing well purps:-x
It's really cold here in Wollongong - even though we're close to the sea, we get the westerly winds straight from the snow fields brrr.
I just hate getting out from under the nice warm quilt at 6.30am.
Hope everyone is getting over the coughs and colds.
Gearing up for World Environment Day/Climate Change rally on Saturday. Should be fun - lots organized and the young one's got plenty of publicity with their street theatre in our Mall yesterday.
Best wishes to you all - hope life isn't treating you too badly.:-)
