I'm contemplating driving up to see my sister today (a 2hr drive) - will have to make my mind up soon! My friend cooked a beautiful dinner last night - we didn't get home till after 1am! It was good to relax.

Hi Miss and yes it was yum

Can give you the receipe


Chuck steak cubed

One onion roughly chopped
Some fresh mushrooms

One carrot roughly chopped

One potato roughly chopped

Handful of grated cheese whatever you have in the fridge

Tomatoes if desired

Dash of worster sauce, garlic couple of teaspoons of brown sugar some gravox and then add in guiness and cook over low heat till meat is browned etc.

Then put in covered dish and bake for 1. 30- 1.45 hours on medium heat

When the meat is tender place in a prepped pie dish and cover with the pastry prick for air vents......and cook till pastry is golden say 20 m ins........i use prepared pastry these days used to make my own:)

This is a bit fiddly but turns out yummo:)

Everything is going well. I have heaps of pics but have been slack loading them to photobucket. Will definitely do that sometime today and post them here.

Our friends are off to Karumba this morning and we follow them tomorrow.

Have been in a lot of pain with my hip. I get the feeling my friend thinks it is all an act. As my daughter (nurse) said maybe she will get it one day and know what it feels like. Just found it insulting to be basically doubted about the pain I have had.

Anyway the rest has done it good and the pain is not so bad this morning. Thank goodness as I want to get out and about. Plus do my exercise program.

Purple sorry to hear you are in so much pain - moreso distressing for you that your pain is being doubted - take no notice. I expect the colder weather is not helping!

We left some flowers on my nephews grave - (just lay the bouquet on top) as not sure of the protocol of doing this i.e. no vase/accommodation? The hardest part is walking away.

Not much happening today just remembered I seen a job in the paper to apply for.

I'm looking forward to finishing up in a way I'm not working for very nice people here...

I thought I finished on the 26th but its the 30th grrrrrr I wish they'd make up their darn minds hahaa

PCT sorry to hear about the hip giving u gip I agree with Miss regarding the cold weather making it worse bugga yr friend. U might need some plastic hips, lol.

Hugs nogal that must have been dreadful........walking away........we all tread such a thin red line.

The pie keeps well and does reheat as well......have never tried freezing them they never last that long:)

Geez Purps who needs enemies when your so called friend is like that.......im sure the cooler weather must be giving you heaps........not much fun in getting older:(
