Incidentally, I haven't been to a doctor for decades and I want to avoid doing this if I can. I don't want any pills thrown at me, especially painkillers. The only way I can judge that I am doing the wrong thing with movement is to feel discomfort or pain. I made a splint out of an elastic bandage with paddle pop sticks and it works like a dream.
The only things I cannot do is ironing heavy fabrics, kayaking, picking up my wee dogs, unscrewing tops or opening cans, and some of the gardening, and (would you believe) washing under my right arm in the shower. I can still whizz around in my Barbi car sans dogs because I can't fit on their harnesses. So I am not doing too badly.
However, any sympathy and condolences would be most welcome. LOL..

I'm not a phantom. Just a Ford Fiesta that's too young to post on your thread.
You all have such great memories and I love to read about the olden days - even though they are a little before my time ('64).
But I do remember the milkman with his horse and cart and how he would whistle to the horse to move on while he delivered our milk. I also remember the postie on his treadly and how we would run to the letterbox when he blew his whistle.
See Terra? You're not as young as you think if you can remember those things.
We will have to come up with some more for you 🙂

Does anyone remember those big scales that used to be scattered around shops, that you could put a coin in and weigh yourself?
I wish they were still around.
When I was in the USA a couple of yrs ago, went some where in Wisconsin, and the place had one.

I grew up in Adelaide and the butchers there gave all kids *fritz*, it came in a roll, done know if it was just an Adelaide meat or not, was yummy tho.
