I am sorry for all the sad I see here, hope it improves for all of you.
I have some wonderful news, I visited with my mil yesterday and the change is amazing.
She is getting up every day for short spaces, sitting on the verandah, or in the living room and taking baths again. She is also eating, small amounts, I am talking 1/4 of a crumpet with 4 baked beans on it, or 1/4 of a weetbix.
The only thing I can put it down to is the morphine patches. It has eased the pain and changed her physical and mental state? That is what I think of course.
We are not expecting a miracle but at least she is not starving to death now. π I had not seen her for 3 weekends.

Karen wonderful news re the mil, hope it continues to be good:)
JEN with the old cw we had a Depression support thread which was quite good and I so miss many of the wonderful people on there, Darkie sort of combined the cancer and the depression thread on the one forum and it is in darkies corner, someone may pop in and put the link up as I have misplaced it:)
I was asked to start a Depression thread on here but I thought it belonged better at Darkies corner as I do not really suffer depression as such so I did not think I was the one to do it, towards the end of CW the depression thread suffered grief and I was not strong enough to pull it together, where as Darkie is:)
So many of the wonderful old CW community do not post any more and it is sad because a lot of us held our hands out to people that so needed it and it was returned, so much support and love at times made one so pleased to be part of a great caring community!

My daughter is currently doing her nursing degree and she wants to specialise in aged care, she loves it.
She also is a few years older than you and has 4 children so it can be done, best of luck with it all:)

Anyway my little man is 100% better than on saturday,we went to the doctors and she put him on antibiotics. So am hoping no-one else gets sick.
Pj have you tried Domiciliary Care my mum use to work for them as a cleaner, she would go to peoples houses every fortnight. Not sure how much it costs now but don't think it is a huge amount. It would help ease the burden of housework for you.
Jvh hope you are looking after yourself, maybe you should tell the OH you don't want the daughter to come around until you move out.If he wants to see her make him go to her.You should'nt have to feel uncomfortable in your own home.BIG HUGS to you.

Hugs girl and thats marvellous news.......and to be doing the career that you have always wanted to do even better.......and its never too old or too late to follow your dream........just go for it.......anything we really want in life is never totally easy going its all about appreciating what we achieve at the end of the journey. I have a marvellous friend just coming up to retirement in the nursing field....we have known each other since 30 thats longer than i care to think.
To cut a super long story short Kay was left with two very small boys to rear....after her whatever husband did a one way walk.
Kay ever the super organised gal did a refresher got back into nursing and scouted around for a top nursing job.
Eventually she got the chance of a lifetime and scored a top top job with the yanks running a hopsital in the Arab Emirates.
Yes she had two kids.......she booked them into the southport school........went to work in the Arab Emirates....came home at Chrissy time and her parents and her inlaws took turns in caring for the kiddies during school holidays........not everyones idea of perfectly rearing ones kiddies but it worked for her two boys.........Kay was highly respected by the Yanks and was asked to go and run a huge hospital stateside.........they dangled a massive carrot in front of her money wise but she had enough and came back to continue nursing in Aussie........she had a very wealthy Yank Doctor chasing her but after how she was treated by the not so wonderful hubby she swore off men for the rest of her life:)
Sorry to waffle on.......just told you that to let you know anything is possible under the most dreadful circumstances.
Hugs hun so glad you have foccus now:):)
