They are due between 80,000km and 100,000km and should be done every hundred thousands K's after that. Because if that hasn't been done, and it goes, it costs a fortune to fix.
He said that if you don't know the service history, get the timing belt done anyways.
Usual cost for timing belt service is a few hundred dollars, but if it breaks it will wreck your motor, so $$$$!
Oops, re not checking under the seat covers......thats the usual way to hide ripped/stained to blazes seats!

Good morning everyone, hope you are all having a nice day.
We were all set to go to story time at the library at 10am and when I went to put sandals on the boy, he was sound asleep. LOL, miss is not impressed at missing out but now she is asleep as well. Looks like a trip to the park instead but I have promised a visit to the library as well.

JVH - best of luck with the painting - hard work - but a joy when it's finished! Hope your visit goes well today. Rosary beads around teddy's neck is a lovely touch!
Hi Dame - I would have been trusting too not looking under the back seat cover - how about new seat covers till you find a good second-hand back seat? Handsome little car - I'm sure it won't be long till you have it 'dame worthy'! Safe travels!
Hey libby - hope you don't get grey hairs now your son has his learners lol! Congrats. to him - such an exciting time for teenagers. I do believe they can obtain learner's permits earlier in S.A? My nephew in S.A. is 17 and chomping at the bit. (My sister is not).
Lilly - good tip regards the car - I have never heard of this - fortunately mine is still under warranty but have taken heed thank you!
Hi Karen - hope your weather is warm enough for the park!
Hey nef - you are doing great!! So happy to hear.
More spring cleaning today - tho it is like winter here so not in the mood. Just found out we have a friend coming to stay from the US in Nov. so will tackle the guest room/bathroom next. Happy days!

Kerry, read about your altercation with a kangaroo....very scary! They can really damage your car in a bad way, so you were indeed lucky that you, your son, and your car emerged more or less unscathed, except of course for some shock and upset!!
Hoping you get some positive news re your interview last week!!
Dame.........oh dear me re the car, and extra money it's costing you. Yes, a RACQ inspection would have been good, but oh well, as long as it is reliable, gets you around and doesn't cost you too much! They are a great little car. My Hyundai Getz is great, never misses a beat.
Do you have airconditioning in it? That's the other thing to get checked up......the air con needs servicing to keep it running efficiently. Mine was re-gassed recently, has made a big difference to it's cooling power.
I am off to the Dr's in the morning, have been getting bad acid reflux of a night, and been scolling the Gaviscon, so obviously need that checked up. I did have a small sliding hiatus hernia picked up on a Gastroscopy some years ago, so that's probably it.
Plus I have been very down over the past couple of months [despite the good news of last week], not sleeping well, weepy, feeling worthless because I don't have a job, eating and eating to the point where my weight is of major, major concern, and just have a 'can't be bothered anymore with anything' type attitude.......all signs of depression.
Anyways, enough of my whining and whinging, folks have it far worse than me.
Take care, hope all that is wrong becomes right for you, and have a nice evening!
