> Hello all, well it's been quite a day/night...have been quite busy and I received a phone call from the Lions club..seems one f my friends nominated me for an award.I am waiting for a phone call tomorrow..seems she wrote a letter saying that in her opinion I am a wonderful friend who thinks of others before myself..if you recall a few months ago her mum passed away and i helped arrange the funeral, putting the death notice in and doing the funeral leaflets...arganizing refreshments ,,but isn't that what friends do?? I keeep telling her that friends do drop what they are doing, friends do help out when and where they can..

Goooooooooooooood morning all.

Another morning of doing bits and pieces have to finalise a place to have the after service celebration of mothers very long and illustrious life

My son put his foot down yesterday big time and said we are having one service and one service alone.......as you are not well enough to be having to travel and organise another funeral service.......so we have decided to have a larger one here........and open the service to other than the immediate family. Of course that hasnt sat well with some distant members of the family........but that is something that they have to deal with

So have to finalise a nice function place........the place we had in mind a local small golf club on the water doesnt do private functions till late in the arvo so not suitable so back to the drawing board this am

Things are slowly falling into place........thanks everyone for all the heartfelt messages:)

JV I am glad your son has put his foot down. I think one service is probably enough. You need to take care of you and your son realises that. Clever boy, your son. Am happy that you have his and his Angels support during this sad time. If the distant rellies do not like it tough. Their problem not yours.

purps I did not take that as you lecturing at all, you have been there done that, so its good to get some advice from someone who knows about it!!

JV 1 service is enough,, its hard enough doing it once than having to do it 2 or 3 times...shes your mum and its your wishes and what you can do that count, you just cant seem to please everyone..
I would love to send you a card if I may please so I will email you a bit later today..have to go to the dr's today and make a few phone calls to catch up on a few things...I want to put some shelves up in my bedroom (or rather get someone to do it) i just dont have enought room for everything, that I need, plus having a wheelchair in the bedroom i need as lesst things(furniture wise) as possible in the area I have, so I figure with shelves things can go up a bit and then things i dont really use but are in my room to pretty it up can sit on the shelves, i have heaps of teddies that are all over my room I plan on putting most of them in the spare room... i am taking my time in doing things ,I just don't want to get sick again, plus its time to satr decluttering, downsizing and throwing some stuff out,,be good if you could just keep the bare essentials but you gotta have some stuff and hey its my place and i own everything , nothing i have i owe anything on so i am quite pleased about that.. have a lounge suite that I am selling as I need to get something smaller..and I also need to get a buffet of some sort,

I feel quite good this orning but am taking iy easy, in fact I am going to go back to bed for an hour...til my carer gets here then I have to go to the drs.....

oh by the way, thanx for the compliment ,re:the poem Jen, it's something I enjoy doing, back when I was in school 1986, I entered the Poetry section of the 1986 Australian Young Writers Award (well it was my english teacher, that submitted my poem, without my knowledge mind yoU! LOL!!!)I won first place for my age, boy was I suprised....I have had 1 poem published quite a few years ago now , and got to perform at S.A's come out youth festival...so i guess that writing is a hidden talent, I write childrens stories and short fictional stories,one of which I might put on here one day when I get the time...I got a certificate of merit for this one,
well its back to bed for me ,now I only have 50 mins LOL!

hi all, hope everyone is okay today, and things are looking up for those job hunting and campervean shopping ,and for the workers too and for them hard working mums who have kids home on hols still!
and for jen, hope that you are feeling okay and getting plenty of rest!

Hugs to everyone and it seems to have been a very long day.......thank goodness we got the after funeral function sorted. My son wanted it to be just so.......so we looked at a fair few places........thankfully one fitted all the bill for him:)
