PJ, sorry to hear your test results were not the best, lets hope that there might be some improvement next time, and hopefully some cooler weather might eventuate for you. I could never live in Adelaide, you always seem to get sky high temps there for days on end.
I'd be nagging that so called friend of yours for your money back, explain you are unwell, that you'd earmarked the money for an air con and you have been patient, but now you expect repayment!

JV, sorry to hear about your friends news. So upsetting. I have a friend in the USA who is anxiously awaiting news from her husbands CT scan of chest. He'd been a smoker for over 60 years, only recently given up, and they have found something sus on the scan, and now want him to have a bronchoscopy.

Just letting you know that Rosieglen is in ebali enjoying a cocktail by the pool and flirting with the towel boys. She's booked in for a week, and says hello to all here.

Days have been hot and humid here, but nowhere near as bad as some. Lucky living here so close to the ocean, we don't get the temps that towns inland get. Still humid though, and I don't do well in the heat. Fans and evap air cooler going all day.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Waves to holidaying Purps.

Hi Lilly and sorry to hear about Rosie:)

Hi Rosie:) hope you are having fun with the towel and drink boys:)

Lilly doesnt sound good about your friend stateside.......i guess the moral in all of this is enjoy every day and dont waste a moment of it.

My ill friend is still continuing to smoke and is having a bourbon of an evening.......really no point in her altering her lifestyle now.........i worry about her a great deal as she is all alone:(

Oh JV that is soooo sad. I guess all you can do is continue to be a friend. Big HUGS:-x

my liver is still really bad, no celliacs disease yay, and the headaches are tension headaches and also heat exhaustion...i have some sleeping tabs...and have to go back next week, if the headaches are still there then we will go ahead with the scans....

Thats not good PJ, hoping they get to the bottom of it all and things improve for you:-x

Oh JV that is soooo sad. I guess all you can do is continue to be a friend. Big HUGS:-x

Thank you yes its very tough yards for her and i feel very powerless and useless:(

Hi everyone. Internet is terrible out here. Got to get in when I can lol. We are not moving until Monday. Had a bit of rain today and had to postpone a couple of things. But we managed to do some great touring. Plus it is not good to pack the camper whilst it is wet. As we found out last trip.

Sorry to see some have problems with health and the health of their friends. Hugs to all.

I saw a doctor about my hay fever yesterday. Hmm well I might just say I am used to a doctor who talks to me without mumbling in his shoes and giving the impression he would rather have me out the door so he can go else where. Vent over. But he did give me some scripts. So all good.

Will be back when I can.

well hello everyone...been a lot cooler here today, but with the rain it has become rather muggy...but I think by tomorrow it will be back to nice weather....

jv ,I know how hard it is with your friend, i have a friend who is very ill, her health would improve by 90% if she gave up the fags..she smokes 50 a day 😞 ,so stupid not to mention expensive..why do people do this to themselves ,,its beyond me?? I have never been a smoker, I did try once when I was at school, I had 1 puff of a friends and had a massive asthma attack..found out afterwards i have a nicotine allergy...LOL! but hated the smell and taste anyway...

puprs some doctors have absolutely no bedside manner..and they act like they are missing an extremely important golf game..

thankyou bella,(libby is that you?) i am glad there's no celliacs...and I hope your tests go well to...

Hello everyone
I'm back from the trip of a lifetime!!
Thanks miss for worrying about me - but I survived and had a wonderful time.
Conference in Adelaide very good - trip on the Ghan wonderful, although I got blisters when I walked back to the train in Alice Springs - now I understand why the Aboriginal people walk slowly!!
Darwin and NT just fantastic!
The best bit of my holiday was a visit to Bathurst Island (part of Tiwi Islands) and meeting the "Tiwi ladies" - the aboriginal elders of the Tiwi people. I'm not really a very spiritual person, but I was profoundly moved by the smoking ceremony and "blessing" from these "aunties" - I know they do it every day for the tourists but I was really affected by this ceremony.
I love the NT!! (Means Not Tuesday, Not Thursday, Not today and not tomorrow!!!) everyone was so friendly - if it weren't for the hot/humid climate I'd move there tomorrow!
Not really! - have returned home to find a perfectly healthy scatty cat - although he did show signs of having missed me!
I am planning the next trip already Planning to revisit Darwin in March to see what the "wet" does to Kakadoo, and do the things I missed this time.
The Moonshadow villas I boasted about staying at lived up to all expectations - what a great way to end the holiday!
Anyone going to NT - please contact me and I'll let you know the tips I learned on my holiday.
Best wishes to you all
Cheers
Marg

Good evening everyone!

Hi JVH - Too bad about the golfing weekend - hopefully it will eventuate! Can't beat mates rates (a new kitchen) - still sounds like you have loads of work ahead. Hope your friend is doing ok - perhaps once she settles she will abandon the ciggies and drinks and fight back. I do hope so.

Hi bella - (or as pjbear asked are you our libby?) - If not welcome to this lovely thread - and if you are - so nice to have you back we missed you!

Hi pjbear - glad it is a tad cooler for you and looking at the time you posted - it is very late to be having dinner! You must have really enjoyed that movie!

Waves to kezza, dame, purple lilly, libby, scatty and everyone else who pops in to say hello!

Just about finished xmas shopping today - found some lovely pressies and enjoyed spending the day with my mum. It rained here as well so the grass has perked up again yay!

Sweet dreams everyone!

Hey Scatty,

I think we posted at the same time!!!!!

Welcome back and your trip sounds so wonderful and serene!! So glad the scatty cat was well when you returned.

I loved the interpretation of the NT (not today etc.) - will be sure and get some advice from you if we venture up that way (would love to!) - and the Ghan would be a dream!

Sounds like you now have the travel bug - good for you!! So nice to have you back and thank you for telling us about your fantastic trip!!

thankyou bella,(libby is that you?)
No I am sorry to disappoint you 😞

It's chatty here, I had to change my ID because of peeps being reported for quoting the first part. I called in to say hi since I hadn't been in the thread for sooo long.

How is Dame doing these days?

I've had a really busy weekend clearing out the garden and getting the house ready for a saftey check. Still a load to do tomorrow and need to get all 3 princesses back in their rooms. Trust me that is a mamoth task in itself.

I'm trying to take it easy if I can get through tomorrow and Monday I can have a good rest. How are you today PJ?
