Publishing and spreading untrue rumors can be a form of bullying 

So say this family Member of my eldest son (or any family member of any of my children or any one else) came in and published and spread rumors that what I was posting was lies that could be  bullying and defamation ? They also also (given that not all family members are involved all of their lives) wouldn't be able to know everything to state what is and/or isn't fact ?

One of the defences for Defamation is Fair Comment.

• A Fair comment is one about a matter of public interest made honestly by a person who did not believe the statements to be untrue and is not otherwise actuated by malice


• A comment is an expression of a personal opinion and must be “honest”

Good grief! I've just  waded back through a couple of pages of this and I am now exercising my inalienable right to post whatever I like in order to say that in my opinion this thread has turned into a pointless slanging match and it's high time it was allowed to die a natural death.
