DDB, Just exploring that concept in another situation.

If you were at a social event which was attended by security ..and there was a group of abusive people who's behaviour was anti social would you expect that you or them should be told to leave ?

it would depend on how "abusive", what type of event, etc.

If we're at a huge sporting event and they're yelling abuse at the umpire or opposing team I'd ignore it, unless it was way too extreme. If they're abusing other patrons I would not expect security to warn and turf if they persist.

I think we can be a bit precious at times in our expectations of behaviours.

maybe Freak , maybe some kids are picking up that it is precious to expect socially appropriate behaviour ?

???

The trouble is socially acceptable is defined differently by everyone and what is acceptable in one instance is not in another.

If it's an open air event with a lot of people you should expect to encounter noise and silly people. If it's the theatre you should expect silence.

I don't get the problem and I've no idea of what your comment means.

What I find not unacceptable others might find unacceptable... eg. swearing at a noisy function/event. I couldn't give a toss, I'd rather hear a lot of F words in general than a couple of nasty sexist or racist comments aimed at people.
