i just went out without my mobile phone
*hangs head in shame*
Don't tell anyone, but I often nick out without my mobile phone. Drives my kids crazy if they text me about something and I don't reply within a few minutes.
I would find it very annoying to be blocked in at car park, especially in the heat that Adelaide has been experiencing. They are stuffy and get very hot, and not everyone may have car aircon where they just could sit in the car, turn the engine on and run the aircon for a bit.
It was inconsiderate of the other woman to block Amy's car, pure and simple. There were other spots to park but she chose instead to block off Amy. It would be different if she was just dropping someone off and stayed in her car, engine running to take off again as soon as she could.
I wouldn't have had the guts to say what Amy said, but I'd be thinking it! I would also have said, "Why on earth did you block me off when there are so many other spots here? Very inconsiderate of you, especially in this heat. I could have wanted to get somewhere urgently and was stuck here with no idea of how long you were going to be."

DD, It would not have mattered if you had a pen/paper to jot down the lic plate or if your phone camera wasnt charged to take a shot of the phantom car
I don think in shopping centre car parks there is a legal or illegal since the white line-parking restrictions are those of a private company and not the police or local council.
The offender got off ligthly being called a female dog, imo. Shes lucky shes didnt park behind a bikie female dog lol
Signatures suck.

Road rules in shopping centres (NRMA)
Road rules don’t only cover the roads we drive on – they also cover road related areas that are open to or used by the public for driving, riding or parking and this includes shopping centres.
Consequently these road related areas are covered by parking, speed limit, overtaking and signage rules.
It also means you can be penalised for breaking them. For example, driving over the speed limit could result in being fined and losing demerit points. So, if you are doing 40km/h in a 20km/h zone, you will be eligible for a $197 fine and the loss of 3 demerit points.
You will also be penalised accordingly for not giving way where appropriate, for double-parking and for driving against the direction indicated on a one-way sign.
Shopping centres can enforce parking infringements, however all other rules must be enforced by the police.
View Rule 13 from Road Rules 2008 for more information.

I think the only things that can't be enforced in car parks are the pram parking spaces.... according to our local (Qld) centre management.

meep, if a parking infringement was issued at a shopping center car park owned by a private company, who collects the revenue...private or state?
Signatures suck.

i'm not sure how that is relevant? the driver broke the rules and should be penalised. it maybe the only way that will stop her from doing it again.
