We went shopping this afternoon to spend some of what we got for Christmas.

I don't think we came out even though..............I bought a small mondo grass for a pot...........hubby bought a new drill.:O..........yep............we went to a Hardware Store.:^O

But I did get a real cute Christmas Tree costume for the youngest grand daughter for next year.

I like Mondo grass but I prefer it as a stylised feature rather than growing in wild clumps along a driveway or garden bed.

Bernard Tomic just won his match agains Tom Haas. He had to struggle to win and kept at it. I hope this means he has developed some determination and a will to win. I know he is only 20 but some players have won big tournaments at that age so he should be able to pull himself together.

I got the mondo grass to grow in a pot where I have an old fashioned rose growing.................I just wanted something to grow under it that I did not keep having to replace.

I think that is a perfect plant. Does not need much water, won't interfere with the rose and will propagate itself

It will help to stop the little grandchildren from playing in the dirt of the pot too...............well I hope so anyway.

I got a few cheap gerbera too.....................I quite like them.....two different shades of yellow.

I got given a red one for my birthday a few months ago........and I have not managed to kill it yet..............which is a good sign.

I didn't fuss too much with our garden this year and I was worried about the amount of water needed to keep it going. All our begonias regrew after dying right off through winter. They are putting on a brilliant show even though I hardly water them.

They are white and planted in pots with palms. The contrast of the green and white is quite effective.

I feel for those tennis players in this heat 😮

I am watching it now Laney. Ashley Barty is playing now and taking it right up to Petkova. She is only 16 but she has broken serve and is playing well

I can't see the roof but I would expect it would be closed
