When I open up my ebay account I found that there was a single bed for $100 in my account which I did not buy, I contact the seller but he was not interested in what I told him he seem to think that I was lying or change my mind, I then contact ebay and told them but all they were interested in was me paying for something that I did buy say that it has cost the seller his time and money but did not seem to worry about my cost and time as I would have to re seller something again that I did not buy in the first place It seem to me that ebay has a lot of laws to help protect the seller but none to protect the buyer when things like this happens if any one esle has had a problem like this I would like to hear from them

Lorraine, has your account been hacked? It sounds like it. I am not too sure how to check but someone on here will. Contact eBay again and this time insist on speaking with a Supervisor.

the bed was bought with a Buy-It-Now listing and the buy-now was done at 4.19pm on the 13th November.
Were you logged on to eBay around that time? (A Tuesday afternoon, 4.19.55pm)
Do you use public computers (internet cafes, libraries) for your eBay activity?
Could someone else in your household have bought the bed?
Who knows your eBay login ID and password?
Have you ever let someone else use your eBay ID for buying items?
Have you received any suspicious emails with advice to click on links within the email to login to eBay or PayPal?
These are the sorts of questions that can help sort out how you have found yourself in this situation.
I would be changing all my passwords immediately. This includes email, eBay, PayPal etc as it seems that your current password might not be secure.

Only way this could happen if your account was hacked into or if somebody else in your household had access to your computer. Interesting that the bed was started at $1, but you "bought" it for the BIN price $100. Were you looking at beds? Could you have left computer on and are there any children who may have pushed some buttons?
Your only options are either to pay or cop strike, or report your account as hijacked, but ebay can tell if the purchase was made from your computer or not.

It is highly unlikely that anyone would hack into your account just to buy a $100 bed, it is much more likely that somebody who knows your log in details has used the BIN or you left your account logged in and a child or even the cat had pressed the right buttons to BIN.
If you account were hacked then in all likelihood the password would have been changed so you could not access it so it is probable it was done from your account by you or someone you allowed access, whoever it was you are responsible for anything that is done on your account.
You should ask the seller very nicely if they will send a request to mutually cancel and you will of course pay all their fees.
Only other option is that you will get an unpaid item strike and if it is not your first you will be unable to bid on most people's items.

I can't understand why you haven't received a strike yet as the auction ended 12 days ago. Ebay always hold the account holder responsible for purchases - there's nothing unfair about it.

I'm glad someone has read my post Lyndal. 😄 As you may know it was a popular song during the 70's and I couldn't resist posting some of it.
As for an item mysteriously appearing in a won list - highly unlikely !

I'm not too sure about that....there are several threads about it happening. The other one was a Gift Card and this thread was mentioned in it.
