Trying to make a complaint about the seller is completely useless and impossible. It seems that Ebay doesn't give a **bleep** about their site anymore.
the resolution centre is non existant and the automaed assisntat is EVEN MORE USELESS.
I think its time to stop using ebay and look somewhere else, because they OBVIOUSLY DON'T CARE.
It is concerning when a seller doesn't keep you informed, especially for an expensive item.
What you need to keep in mind is that there is an ebay money back guarantee but there is only a narrow window in which you can claim.
It has to be after the last expected delivery date but within 30 days after it.
From what you have mentioned, it sounds as if your window to make a claim would not be here yet, as Casey said. If the seller said it would take 30 days before making and shipping, then you have to add on time for delivery.
You need to check out the original ad in the My ebay section, see if it tells you an estimated due date range.
You won't be able to open a claim till that has passed.
If you go to the help pages, you need to keep going in chat till you get past the automatic assistant. Eventually they do give in and give you a real person if you keep saying it has not solved or answered your problem.
But most things on ebay are automated and so is opening a claim for an item not received or not as described. I feel pretty confident you are still within your claim period, you may even be a bit too early. Keep an eye on the dates, get onto help (real person) if unsure as they should at least be able to tell you that much.
You are right in one regard and that is, there is a level of risk associated with buying expensive items on ebay, especially from overseas. There are safer sites you could choose for an expensive musical instrument. I'm not saying they are necessarily cheaper in stores but it may be safer.
From what casey has said (I have not looked at your feedback etc) it sounds as if you may in fact eventually receive your guitar. But keep an eye on the last delivery date and make a claim immediately after that if it has still not arrived.
