So for the last 3 days, I've been trying to buy items on eBay from different sellers, but no matter what method I use, the purchase shows "processing" then about 2 hours later, the payment "failed". Then a message saying please try another method!!!
Have been onto chat every time and just get "we are working on it". The latest is:
"I understand you. However, there is ongoing issue with many users reporting same and we've escalated this issue to our technical team. They are working on it to be resolved soon."
Its been escalated for the last three day and 5 chats!!!
So anyone else have this problem?
I'm about to quit ebay after 22 years given they can't solve a simple problem like this after 3 days. Don't think they care - if they ever did!!
Regards,

The regulars here are very well aware eBay don't care, very few people here would think they do for a second
Have you read any of the other numerous posts on here about the same issue?
Yes, other have had the issue, other members have made suggestions for possible 'fixes' for now
The replies you get from costumer service are from pre- written scripts. More than likely, nothing has been escalated to tech
Just a few of the many other posts about this

Thank you - yes, have seen them all, just thought I would post this for the latest in their issues. Am working thru alternate ways of buying.
Will be leaving ebay once the items I bought sometime back arrive and are ok.
At least leaving ebay will stop me buying things!!!
LOL!

I fully understand your frustation, however this is just another bump in the road. Ebay will sort it out eventually. Ebay is a great place to find things you can't find elsewhere, and you have enjoyed it for 22 years. Don't imagine for a moment that they will care if you leave. So why let this one glitch cause you to leave? Nothing in life is perfect, so why cut off your nose to spite your face? Down the track you will probably be sorry you left.

Great experience for any new buyers - NOT
They may even receive unpaid item strikes and definitely won't return to eBay !

Appreciate your thoughts. I absolutely understand they won't care if I leave. "Eventually" is a completely unacceptable solution in this day and age when we rely on systems working and being fixed in a timely manner when they fail. For a failure in their system regarding processing a payment - and more than just me affected - that it is now 4 days and counting without any communications from ebay or any correction is simply atrocious. That I have items I was buying - and sellers were selling - and now neither of us can proceed - I can't pay, the seller has a sale in limbo - and ebay technical team pick fluff from their navel!!! Ebay has got too fat, dumb and happy, so time to leave. There is now little I will miss buying.

So on chat again today - for once I got someone who did more than say it was a priority.... It was supposed to have been fixed yesterday, but as of today they have been inundated with people having problems being able to pay. It is worldwide, not just Australia.
He did not know when it would be fixed. Suggested try again tomorrow!
At least some honestly.
And - as expected - given it was supposedly fixed yesterday, there was no email from ebay as promised in an earlier chat saying it was fixed. So that will never happen....one just has to keep chatting or trying endlessly till maybe it works. Once a day exercise....so frustrating. Their system must be so old and convoluted that finding and fixing problems is a nightmare - that is scary to think about and the security of our money!!!

Most annoying for you & you'd think ebay would want to fix this urgently if it is a worldwide issue.
My advice would be that if you want to stop buying on ebay, that is fine, but don't actually close your account.
Ebay, as you know, doesn't know and doesn't care what individual people do but by leaving your account as is, you make it more convenient for yourself should you, some time in the future, wish to buy something else on ebay.
Sometimes, it is only on ebay you can find certain items so leave your options open.

Hi, appreciate your advice. Its probably what I will do - at least in the near term as I work out what I do in the future.
It's largely when things are in the UK that are of interest (rarely) - US is no longer attractive as shipping is so expensive and sellers are often fairly vague on the condition. Japan is too expensive these days.
My interest is vintage camera gear and unique electronics - so fairly restrictive area. Not into barbie dolls and the likes! And I always do price comparisons - ebay sellers are not always good value.
I'm in SIGs so that also helps.
So not much really of interest - to me - in Australia anymore.
And I certainly would never sell on eBay.
So it's becoming a lot less relevant for my buying. I just have one item that is sitting in paying hold up I'd like to finalise. But that may not occur if this problem keeps on!
Will try again on tuesday, then give up. That would represent over a week for them to fix.
