What should I do?

I have purchased a book and paid for it the same day, 4/8, and have waited in vain for it to arrive. Today I sent the seller an email asking what the status of the order was, trying not to sound pushy. I have just received a reply stating, "I have not sent it yet."

Just that. No explanation or mention of when he might send it. I am a bit taken aback, by this. I am concerned that if I leave it to drag on too longer I will just lose my money. Should I email back and ask just when he plans to send it, or is there a more appropriate response. I don't want to be unfair, but neither do I wish to lose my money. Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you would like to know (which is fair enough that you do) I would send the seller a polite message asking them if they would please give you an idea of when he/she will be posting the item.

 Did you pay by PP?

If so, you have 45 days to lodge a dispute.  Others will give you far larger details of what to do as I have never had this problem.

I wouldn't mind betting though you are dealing with a dropshipper, who sells things from another companies stock.

For a book you are prolly getting it from Amazon, who may be out of stock. Chances are the seller can’t give you any more information as they don't know themselves.

Thanks for the replies. I followed the advice of the first respondent and have now received the reply that he misplaced the book and is looking for it. He says he will send it ASAP.  I think it is more likely it is a dropshipper as the description said it MAY have marks on it. Well, I did pay PP so I will keep an eye on the calendar from here on in.

I would be asking him why he has re-listed the book you bought IF it is supposedly unable to be found.

To the last poster: you are right. I hadn't noticed that. I don't know why he can't be honest about it. I think I will wait one more week and then do a dispute on it. Thanks for drawing my attention to this.

Unless he states his handling time as more than 2 weeks, I would be opening a dispute now.

If he doesn't have/can't find it, he should have refunded you already.

Buy from Aussie sellers who have stock.

'May have marks', the picture is illustrative', any mention of restocking fees, handling times over a week are all indicative that the seller doesn't hold the item.

you have been waiting 17 days already.....i think thats long enough to wait

Open your dispute now. What are you waiting for exactly?  Please dont let him muck you around any further.

Just over 100 listings and only three sold on the first run through and they only have one feedback.

They certainly can't afford any bad feedback,B-)
