Buying COD

Hi there,
Looking to buy a Ride on Mower, which is COD, which is fine.
If I am the winning bidder and we go to collect it, if my husband isnt happy with it are we within our rights to refuse?
We dont want to cop negative feedback.
Many thanks,
Robyn

My understanding is sellers can't give you negative feedback.

I suppose they could report you for non payment, but you could reply the item wasn't as advertised or whatever the problem was.

In any case, if it is a big item and for some reason you were very unhappy with it and it wasn't what you expected, then better to cop a dispute than pay out a lot of money for something you don't want.

The only thing I would say though is that to be fair to the seller, you would need to read the description very carefully, look carefully at all the photos and ask questions if in doubt, before you bid. That way you should have a clear understanding of what you are getting and be happy to go through with the transaction.

Thanks very much .... I am referring to a ride on mower.  We have gone over photos and asked questions, do hopefully it will all be good Smiley Happy

Robyn,COD is an Australia Post service so presume you mean cash on pickup ?

If you won the mower & it was not as described, you have every right to walk away without handing over your hard earned cash.

If the seller opened a non payer dispute, you would respond with details as to why the item was not as described.

IF ebay issued you with a strike, you would receive a link to appeal it & provided you are not a habitual non payer, ebay should overturn the strike.

All of the above is of course worse case scenario & hopefully it would turn out well for you.

Please make sure your hubby has a good look at the mower & actually sees it in action before handing over the money IF you win.

Thanks for the great advice Foxette Smiley Very Happy

is there a possibility of looking at the mower BEFORE you bid on it?
