I thought the OPs issue was regarding pick ups and listings being unclear about that.

There are many reasons why sellers do not allow pick up and they are under no obligation to do so or to explain why they don't.

In this instance the seller has done exactly the right thing, the OP can either agree to the mutual cancelation or they can refuse it and pay including the freight charge.
