You haven't been ripped off until Paypal reject your claim.

    A member or members answers with relevant information or requests for specifics

    You provide info, or reject info even when it is likely to be true

    You NEVER tell another member to bleep off

    Nothing is obvious unless you actually tell us, given the people who ask these questions generally don't understand eBay

You pretty much said that you went to Paypal because you couldn't contact eBay. If you had have managed to contact eBay they would have told you to contact Paypal. Because Paypal provide buyer and seller protection for eBay in Australia.

 

It is one of the things you read in the eBay terms and conditions when you join. The ones you state you have read by ticking the box.
