Predictive Text in Search box

I'm not a quick typer, but when I try to type the name of something I want to search for in the Search box, some predictive text thingy keeps skipping letters and wanting to suggest dumb words.

Is this just me and my computer (I'm using Firefox as a browser) or is this the "New EBay"?

No, not just you.

l went to put 'dollhouse' in the search and it come up with 'sausage maker'.

Um.....

l tried again and watched the search box. It was skipping letters that l typed and come up with its own idea.

If this is the new shopping experience, l don't like it.

Does it bring up a list as you're typing?

At the bottom of the list there should be "Hide suggestions" or something like that and a tick box. Tick the box and next time you search there shouldn't be a problem.

As said there is usually an option to not have this, I can't remember it's name, auto suggestions or something like that.

Need to turn that option off.

Goodness me, does anyone else have the predictive text saying something very rude every time you type "auspost"? It changes the word by adding an "n" after the first letter.

It only seems to happen on a Galaxy tablet and it overrides all other websites predictive text

OK, thanks for the help.  Sportandplay and Kopenhagen seem to be spot on.  I've turned the nonsense off.  🙂
