let me rephrase . . . . . I think that when incorrect advice is offered on these boards it is important that that advice be corrected.  For those that read the boards and hold the same views as the incorrect advice, it provides an opportunity for them to learn the correct advice.

I cannot remember when full buyer protection for qualifying ebay items started but think it was around the same time you had to start offering a safe payment method.

Some time after that as more and more companies started offering Payal it was changed again and regardless of who you buy from now you have full buyer protection for goods not received as long as you indicate when you are paying that it is for goods.

Remember, they will only receive a refund if there are suitable funds in the Sellers Paypal account - if they have cleared it out and the account is empty (as has happened to me in the past) you will get nothing.

That policy was donkeys years ago.Paypal also only used to cover up to $400,they also didn't cover purchases from internet sites other than ebay etc etc etc

Might be a good idea if you kept up to date with the policies in order to provide correct advice.

As long as it is within 45days of when you made the payment, but not 45 days of when you get the goods which quite often can be many, many weeks after making the payment for overseas goods.

That is easy to decipher Foxy....heavy_head is muddying the waters by introducing something extra to the 45 day rule.

It has always been 45 days from the date of payment.....NEVER has there been any mention of when you received the goods.

And just so you know heavy_head.....even if an item takes a month to arrive from overseas, that is still only 28-30 days so you still have plenty of time for a dispute.  It is most ususual for anything to take longer than 4-5 weeks.

What is that saying? Something about deep holes and stopping digging :^O
