That's fair enough, too. I absolutely agree that anybody opening a bank account of any description should be required to provide adequate proof of their identity, but attached credit cards or bank accounts in the Paypal account holder's name should be more than sufficient proof of identity as far as they're concerned. Otherwise, I have no issue with their requests for proof of ID.

I can understand your reservations regarding handing over personal details online. The fact remains however that all this was in the terms & conditions you agreed to when you originally signed up to paypal.

 

If you dont read T&Cs its a bit rough to then complain when you are being requested to fulfill the agreed to requirements.

 

The same goes for new members to ebay who dont learn/read the "how to's" then wonder why they are out of pocket when something goes pear shaped.
