Event tickets are risky to buy on ebay as many are not transferable.
But, the ebay policy is you bid or buy, you pay.
The seller has been charged fees because you bid and won it.
The seller will probably open an unpaid case to get their fees back and your account will receive a strike.
2 strikes and you are blocked for 12 months from bidding or buying from many sellers.
And I hope you didn't just not turn up at the meeting letting the seller wait for you.
That would be very poor form.

kippaah, can I ask why you chose not to meet the seller ? As kopes said, you bid, you won, you pay. Why don't you think you don't have to pay ?

Did you pay for any of the 3 tickets you bought over a week ago? I can understand why your seller is upset, because the concert was last night, meaning she can't resell the ticket. I would either cough up the money for the now useless ticket, or wear the unpaid strike that you deserve, so at the very least, she can get her fees back.

Yes there is, like, an ebay law saying you are expected to pay for it.
What do you think it means when you push the button 'buy it now' or 'Bid now'.
The wording could not be much simpler, could it?
I don't suppose you have read any of the ebay instructions either, for people starting up on ebay, but seriously, what did you think an auction or sale meant? Do you imagine you can bid at eg a house auction and then say oh i think I have changed my mind?
Just in case you've missed a few steps along the way, let me spell it out. Ebay for dummies.
-Sellers list items and they pay a sales commission when they sell something. They pay a paypal commission too if a buyer pays via paypal. They also pay sales commission on postage costs if there are any. We're talking about eg 9% sales commission to ebay alone so it's not peanuts.
-bidders who win or 'buy it now' are expected to pay. If you aren't sure you want something, don't bid.
-if you did bid and decide you don't want something, sure, you'll probably get away with walking away and ignoring email reminders. You can get away with defaulting on payment. Unless it is a huge purchase you aren't likely to be taken to court. But if you leave a seller high and dry, expect them to report you to ebay. How else do you think they can get their commission fees back?
-If you make a habit of not paying, expect many sellers to report you for unpaid items. As the others said, 2 unpaid strikes and a lot of sellers will have you on their banned list. There's a reason for that. They don't want to be mucked about by time wasters.
Plus you are costing them money because putting in a report to ebay takes time and during that time, they can't sell to someone else.
So default on payments if you wish but perhaps ebay buying is not for you if you find the concept of bid then pay a bit complicated.

Sadly, as per usual, someone comes in here asking advice, when they don't hear what they want to hear, you never see them again. I don't know about anyone else, but my happy buyers party list has just sent a new invitation!
