Hi helpful eBayers
I wanted to buy an item from theUK for 3 British Pounds. I asked the seller to send it to a friend in England so I could avoid the ridiculous Global Shipping Program costs. Seller agreed and I sent full payment of GSP costs after seller said she would refund the difference in local postage costs to GSP costs.
It would seem she has sent the item to Australia at the cost of 11 British Pounds.
I would never have bought if I had known this would happen.
What can I do now?
Any ideas?
Barbara

if you paid with paypal then the seller is obligated to send it to the address you have in paypal otherwise if the parcel goes missing they are not covered. If you wanted it sent to your friend you should have changed the address in paypal first? The seller may have also forgotton about your request.

All you needed to do was put the UK address as the delivery address in checkout, the postage amount would have been changed automatically and the seller would have sent to that address.
A seller must send to the address as shown iin Paypal which is always the delivery address you select in checkout BERFORE you pay.

Postage from the UK is actually pretty cheap, it's converting it into dollars that makes it expensive.

I had suggested that to the seller but she thought it would work without doing this.

Jess I hate to tell you but parcel post from the UK to Australia is anything but cheap, especially if you want any sort of seller protection. it is one of the reasons I stopped selling while in the UK plus of course the fact that ebay and Paypal fees are more here than in Australia.
