eBay vouchers have had many threads in these last few months.

okay, so I still can't view the terms and conditions.

So I assumed it would be like other eBay offers/vouchers where the registered email address for the eBay acct and PayPal acct had to be the same address and went ahead and bid on an item I have been wanting for some time now.

I created a PayPal address for this acct earlier this week using the same email address. I verified the mobile number tonight and transferred enough money across from my other PayPal address when I was fortunate enough to win the auction.  I transferred enough to cover the purchase even if the voucher code did not work.

I made sure that it would not default to my regular PayPal address at checkout and it all went smoothly with the voucher code working and me getting the $20 off my $85 item.  Woohoo!

I guess the lessons to be learned are as follows:

- always ensure that eBay/PayPal accounts use the same email for eBay vouchers

- make sure the PayPal addresses you use do not have the "always logged in" or "one-click payment" option enabled (PayPal call this One Touch™ )

- be a smart buyer and don't over commit i.e. if you absolutely, positively must have the voucher value to be able to afford the item then you may be disappointed if there is a voucher glitch and you might end up with an UnPaid Item strike.  Shop within your means.

- don't buy paint unless you absolutely need it  

You could have just added the email address to your existing PayPal account and made it the default temporarily. That's all I did when I had a voucher on an account that didn't use my PayPal email address. Once the purchase was completed, I went back in and made the main email address the default again.
