brerrabbit, I may have misread the post... but "Removing negative feedback from sellers is why I bought an item from someone that has a bad record of selling in the first place " seemed to me to be saying "Why I bought from this seller - because he/she has a bad record and I saw negative feedback disappearing so I bought to give negative feedback."

But you're right - it could mean rather that the poster was saying "I feel that I was misled and that negative feedback for this seller has been removed and this is why I didn't realise that the seller was a bad seller, and I've since seen my own negative feedback removed."

Spoiler
I must admit that I thought the first possible meaning was bolstered by seeing duffl03's typical feedback comments over the last year which are nonsensical strings of letters for the last 4 pages of feedback given.

And they say that grammar (and spelling and punctuation) is no longer necessary. I'd bet London to a brick that the subject sentence, properly constructed, would have left no doubt as to the author's meaning.

At least the nonsensical feedback wasn't negative, which is why I read their statement the way I did.  I think in their opening post they did say something about leaving a rare negative, so I assumed they're careful not to buy from people with dodgy feedback and would have appreciated knowing what the seller was really like before they bought from them.

Hallelujah, brother! Clarity is beautiful, and I won't be betting against you.

True, brerrabbit, true. Nonsensical negatives would be salt in the wound.
