Then the GST on the purchase postage is an offset against the GST on the selling postage.
Unless they're not registered for GST, in which case they are both deductible expenses.
Unless they don't declare their selling income....

I buy my oil-petrol stuff cheap on eBay (even with GSP and GST it's often cheap), then I resell on Facebook but swap and sell and make a motza. Look at the overall price to see if it's worth it.

It's only been around for about five years, and there are plenty of indicators prior to purchase as to what it will cost. A US drop box will also negate the GSP for eBay purchases.

And when you have the parcels forwarded from your drop address they will add the GST to the price. It is unlikely to work out much cheaper than just using the GSP.

4channel, did you read my reply directly above your post?
The drop address idea will not negate the GST being charged. All these services are being treated the same as ebay....they have to collect the GST on behalf of the ATO and submit it regularly.

No I didn't read your post Lyndal. And anyway, I wasn't wanting to know about the GST! I wanted to know about how it goes with the drop box as per, "I will look on Amazon USA & use a drop box in the states"
Due to the cruddy service that Pitney Bowes provides, the rough handling, risk of theft, damage, confliscations and delays etc., I was just wondering how danny4178 will get on, speedwise etc. And davewill said " A US drop box will also negate the GSP for eBay purchases." .So stinking GSP can be bypassed which would be cool.

But the GST will still be paid. All the drop shipping services from the USA are treated the same as ebay and the GSP and collect GST on shipments to Australia.
