Does anyone remember that seller we came across selling furniture? Claimed in her TOS that anyone watching the items would be reported to ebay if they watched without bidding..

You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means

I doubt that even a hacker can reveal the IDs of watchers - that seller is an idiot !

patchoo78, please read my post #36. I have NOT stated I don't like watchers. Good grief.

Im a buyer and have a watch list of about 15 items--it changes.

I watch a few items of collectables -that i have  to see if they sell.

Because of the type of books i collect-the sellers have a limited market.

A couple of sellers know im the only watcher.

After months of relisting they drop the price to a realistic one and i

purchase straight away.................................Richo.

Silly woman. Perhaps if she threatened to sue them instead, she might of had better luck!

Doesn’t expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected?

As a seller, though, I did get annoyed by seeing the watch count. Since it's been removed, it's alot more peaceful when viewing how the listings are going.

Sorry, WHAT? What did I miss since I stopped selling a fortnight ago?

Is that true? Seller's can no longer see who is watching their items?  (I know, I know, probably got an email about it but didn't read it).

Doný worry, the Watch list hasn't been removed. I just meant that I removed it from displaying in Selling Manager.

Thanks zenremix, that's a relief. Coz I like watching my watcher list!  Good to know you can remove it from displaying though. 🙂

As the old ebay wisdom goes:  ' If it doesn't apply to you, then it doesn't concern you '

Right ?

And that for some reason has brought Shakespeare to mind with his ' Protesteth too  much'

As to hitting the button already  --- nope.  Don't think so.  Of the few items I bother to put on Watch these days ---- seems a mysterious someone is bidding it up desperately.  Now who could that be ?  Surely not the seller's sock-puppet ?   But then, could it be a genuine, experienced ebayer with several hundred transactions to their name?  Someone so experienced wouldn't keep topping up the bid several days in a row -- would they ?  I mean, why wouldn't they wait until close to end-time ?  Same would apply to that dogged and very experienced supposed 'opposition' bidder who keeps responding with bids of their own -- again for days in a row

So I'm just sitting back watching them play the game.  Hope the seller wins her own item back from herself.  Think of all the money she'll save in postage  😄
