No don't believe a word he says. In HK and lower part of China there are people specialise in exchanging re-assembled defunct apple product for fully working ones. I know they do that through apple stores, I didn't know they also do it through ebay. Feel so sorry for you, but I have had worse experiences. I am keen to add him to my blocked lists. I would suggest you call Paypal USA number and try to talk them through. Don't bother with Paypal aus.

I don't think that Paypal has a CS group in Australia, every time I've phoned them I've been put through to the US, and sometimes (from memory) to Ireland.

Paypal used to have one in Sydney but it's might be part of ebay Australia. Even though they are now separate companies I believe they share the same office or phone system.

If you ring the paypal 1800 number it is an Australian Free Call number that is rerouted to the USA and you do not pay for it.

If you want to ring the USA direct you cannot use their Free Call number (only works for US residents) and you will have to find another number and pay the earth for the priviledge.
