As long as i could purchase as many items as i required then yes it would save me a bit of time using the cart
But i not sure how it would work with the smaller sellers with low quantity, someone could go to pay and find the item in there cart has been sold 😮

If an item becomes unavailable, shopping carts can not process the order. I can't think of any reasonable minded person who would blame the seller for someone else buying an item before they did. Most people realise that putting an item in a cart doesn't mean it's theirs, just like putting an item on a watch list doesn't mean it's theirs.
The problem being that not all ebay buyers are reasonable minded. In fact you could almost count on the ones that aren't also being the ones that presume it is sold when it hits their cart.
I dunno, can see goods and bads about it. Maybe a hybrid of watched items and cart being the better option??

It's exactly like a real shopping cart or trolley.. You put stuff in as you're walking around the supermarket but you don't own it until you pay for it..
You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means

Maybe they could make it so they cart is only available to high volume sellers and those with a store, who do have massive amounts of stock available.. If it was just a small seller with only a few items, then obviously the cart would not be suitable for them

Have you ever added things to peoples trolleys when your doing your shopping when they arent looking, then make sure you pay for your stuff first, sit outside the supermarket and watch them as they unload their trolley, either not even noticing the item you put in there, or noticing it and looking at it oddly then putting it to the side and not buying it?
Now thats a hoot 😮

Another consideration is to leave the "back end" checkout and fulfillment to a good outsourced fulfillment house. There are lots of good ones. One is karolmedia.com. Karol fulfillment has been around for 35+ years - they started way back with 16mm film distribution.

Enough trolleys are already being dumped in the streets.
