Is your postage high enough? You need to send it with signature required and with extra insurance. Insurance is included for the first $100 of signed for postage and you should buy extra insurance up to the total price of the item. If you don't and it goes missing in the mail you will only be able to get $100 compensation from AP if it is signed for, nothing if it is sent regular post.

I didn't know a signature includes $100 compensation. I always have to pay insurance separately on parcels, and that's not just the PO staff charging me that - it's how it comes out when they key in the value I want to cover. Registered letters are a different story and insurance up to $100 is included in the price.
