Can I ship without a suburb with Auspost?

Hi there

Just had a buyer purchase An item and I'm using EBay label printer satchels and it requires a suburb but the customer didn't put in their suburb.

I've ebay messaged the buyer asking for their suburb.

I was wondering do I need to enter the suburb to shop to the customer or is address and zip ok?

Should I wait for buyer to email me back or post without the suburb?

Thanks for the help

Try googling the street number and name along with the postcode provided. I get this occasionally and the full address will usually turn up that way.

The package might still arrive without the suburb, but it's best to include it.

I'm a bit confused about what you mean when you say the buyer hasn't given a suburb? Is there address something like:
John Smith

123 Jones St

2196

Or

John Smith

123 Jones St

Sydney 2196

EDIT: If it's the first scenario, then you really should add the suburb by using google maps. Especially if it's a common street name. I wouldn't be chancing it, even though it would be the buyers mistake if it didn't arrive.

If you have the postcode/zipcode, just google to find the suburb name.

If I put my postcode into something, it comes up with 22 different locations. I think the address in google maps would work better.

Of course, didn't think of that. Smiley Embarassed

I had one like this recently where the street name cut across several suburbs.
So I had to use Google maps and the AP postcode PDF file and a process of elimination to find the suburb name. Since in my case the street cut across many suburbs I wanted to have it there.
Must have arrived OK as we received pos feedback about quick delivery.

Thanks everyone for your help. Great idea to google map the address and find the suburb that way. I'll do that when I get home and send off the parcel.

Thanks again you all rock 👍

Apart from everything already said, you won't be able to print an eBay address label without a suburb (that matches the postcode)

The Australia Post website lets you match a postcode to a suburb.
