In a perfect world, yes COD is indeed the seller delivering however possible : IF the seller knows the true meaning of COD. However, as stated earlier most don't, and delivering a 3pce lounge (as example) could be tricky if the seller is in WA and Buyer is in Tas. All I am trying to say is that an error like that can cause headaches for all concerned, and IMO would be better off not being an option. 

Agree, it confuses the way it's set up. I like DGs suggestion of having both as options, same place with brief explanation in brackets.

IF the seller doesn't, then maybe they should familiarise themselves with the services of the carrier they intend to use.

I would imagine most sellers who offer it are new, or haven't ever had anybody pick that option. Either way, removing the option should not be a consideration. People should work out what they're doing BEFORE they start selling. That's why eBay has tutorials.
