OK thanks everyone.  I have been a member of Ebay for 11 years and know how it all works.  These people were disgraceful how they spoke to me on Sunday about the jumper.  I now cannot turn my feedback back from private so I dont know and I am at work so havent time to fiddle around with pages trying to find it.  I have calmed down but it is hard enough these days to even get a sale let alone now that I have negative feedback left against me.  I am so worried that I will ever get a sale after this.

I was annoyed that they had this attitude and sent them a note the other night to tell them to think about what they do and they sent back a nasty note and I replied again and then they gave me an unfair negative.

If I am reading this right they didn’t do anything till you sent a couple of nasty notes.  People but more importantly BUYERS, who are the lifeblood of any business, need to be made important.  There is a very old saying that more sellers on eBay should take to heart and stick to.  “The customer is ALWAYS right”.

I would bet this client was more than happy with your service, and would have left you alone, or given you good feedback, right up till they got a nasty (or in their opinion a nasty message) message from you.  Then you sent them a second one… Take a couple of seconds and think about this…. What would you do?

What you should have done was send them a message apologising for any inconvenience… explain nicely you thought your add was very specific about the condition however would love to gain their opinion on how you could have made the add better so there was no more misunderstandings.

I am afraid this feedback is self-inflicted even if it wasn’t deserved!

I did not really send them a nasty message at all.  I just told them in future to make think more about the seller.  They turned up on my doorstep to pick it up and went over the jumper with a fine toothcomb, I got stuff that it was faded, shrunk even the number on the back were not the right numbers, there is that many different football numbers.  They made such a big deal out of it.  I felt so sorry for the daughter who wanted the jumper.  I dont think messages from her calling me a liar etc. are nice.  I am an honest person.  I will move on from this and probably try selling again when I get a chance and hopefully my previous feedback will stand up.  I would like to test that out.  The jumper was secondhand and I advertised it as very good condition not excellent.  These people were exceptionally nasty when they came.  I have had very good experiences with selling.    I think this was just a bad experience and no matter what I said to them even when they were at my place was not going to make any difference.  I should have known better than to message them BUT.

For somebody who knows how eBay works you should know better than to say in your TOS:

I will not be responsible for items lost or damaged whilst in the post.

OK I am sorry that I posted on this forum because I didnt expect the criticism that I am getting.    Does anyone know how I can delete this post because I am so over it now.

I have been advertising about the not being responsible for items lost or damaged whilst in the post for years.  Most parcels arrive safely and if they dont I follow it up and usually get a refund by Australia Post and refund the buyer.    What I do is my business and I dont need to be questioned by other people as to how I advertise things, it is my business no one elses.

If you click on the option in the pop-up it will show the complete list....click the one you want.

Mumscats most people on here are trying to help it is against policy to leave 'negative' positive on a buyers page however tempting it is at times.

And you are responsible for items lost or damaged in the post, you have said that you do refund if this happens so I'm not sure why you have that line there at all.

You can still leave feedback for each other after a mutual cancellation and the only way it can be removed is if your buyer agrees to a feedback revision or if ebay will remove the feedback for you.

If it were me and I had NOT sent 'vulgar threatening emails' then I would be speaking to ebay about removing it.
