So nobody can see if the non payer has a strike and it left up to the seller to have them blocked or choose to block a buyer with a strike.. feel this leaves people open to abuse the system ... have had several no shows , even after giving them extra time at their request when they had no intention of paying ...

You can use your settings so only 'good' buyers buy from you. Check it out.

That doesn't always work..some buyers have glowing feedback but still don't pay occasionally.I've had that quite a lot this year.Don't think the 3 strike thing is working now.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that 😞

I would leave positive Feedback, just in capitals - saying exactly what I feel! 🙂

Unfortunately that would be a breach of the rules imperial. Although I sympathise with that position.

im not fussed that we cant leave negs for non payers, but i believe ebay should be stronger in handing out penalties to non payers

yes they get strikes and if sellers have the right blocks in place they cant buy from you... but to me its not enough

non payers should get a couple of warnings then after 3 non pays they get banned from ebay

Ebay should suspend Non-paying bidders and their paypal accounts immediately until they pay the seller a percentage of the purchase price. I had a non payer refuse to respond to my messages yet be able to make 6 purchases while I had to wait for a response then for a dispute resolution to finish. Ebays response was pretty poor to say the least. He then managed to sting another customer within a few weeks only they left feedback under positive with a Bold warning he was a non paying bidder. Ebays policy only encourages fraudulent practises and only punishes the honest. I have been stung three times now on three seperate items and have missed potential sales. Blocking bidders in my settings only fobs off unscrupulous bottom feeders onto some other unsuspecting seller (I would rather help protect others like myself than let them get shafted). Get with the program Ebay and support where your income is derived from.

You can rehash this subject a often as you like but it is unlikely that ebay is going to change it again.

As for your suggestion that ebay should suspend anyone's paypal account.....it will definitely NEVER happen.  Ebay has no right to control anyone's paypal account

My paypal account was opened long before ebay had anything to do with paypal and it is used for buying, paying bills and sending money overseas that have nothing to do with ebay.

All good ideas to deal with non payers. I would love to have their names on a public register - name and shame.

Honestly what is the mind set of a non payer. I have asked this question to customers that refuse to pay, but they never reply.

I really want to know what makes someone click to buy, confirm, then never pay.

I have sometimes bought something in haste and then thought I shouldn't have. But I always pay for it, then resell it if I decide not to keep it.  I would never dream of not paying for the item, and I can't understand why people do it.
