Is there a difference between Good Til Cancelled and 30 days with 3 free listings

I have always used buy it now Good Til Cancelled, but then after 30 days when my item relisted it would use my 40 free listings. So I have changed all my listings to 30 days, and ticked the box Relist automatically 3 times. I'm hoping this won't come out of my 40 free listings when they are relisted. Is there a difference between the 2? I thought eBay were stuffing up, but I think Good til Cancelled does use up free listings when it relists.

GTC - you will be charged every month until it sells or you cancel.

30 days x 3 (free relists)...effectively you get 90 days for the one charge and then you can re-list (for another fee or within your 40 listings)

Effectively 120 days. (first 30 then 3 x 30)
