I don't know why everyone is jumping on the OP. They haven't asked for any money (e.g. if you think it's a scam), only advice.

Surely any company with access to legal advice would find it a simple job to find out the registered address of eBay Australia and send them a registered letter with the relavent legal documentation to allow ebay to disclose any information they had but I am not sure what you expect them to be able to tell you.

All ebay would be able to tell you was that a particular id sold XX items etween certain dates, they do not keep details of the actual listings more than 90 days and any successful scammer will probably have used a false name or a hi-jacked account.

Do you even know for sure they were sold on ebay, there are other auction sites!

See what a trendsetter I am?

Still  sounds fishy; nobody with any legal knowledge would expect eBay (or any other company) to release such an info without going through proper channels, and to be looking for answers on public forum???

OP, surely your company is in a position to apply to ASIC to purchase the ebay company details?

It is not that expensive and would be an outlay in administering the Estate.  This will give you the registered address and details of the directors.  Last time I bought on it was about $35 from memory.

You mean he is full of it ? 😮

His whole post screams " Drama Queen ! "

Actually, it says 'spank me.';-):^O

Hey soul - fair assesment, but I would not want the OP's employers representing any of my 'legal' affairs.

don't take life too seriously.......it's not permanent
