ebay plus

eBay plus has started to appear on my listings from today. Comments on blogs from US sellers suggest that returns have increased significantly under this program. I am looking for comments as to whether I should cease offering returns on my listings, as this is the only way of opting out of the plus program.

Ebay offers 30 days MBG and PayPal 180 days so even if you state no returns in your listings it won't stick if a buyer claims for whatever reason.

Thanks above. However, it is the change of mind returns that are my main concern.

The ebay policy clearly states:

Can I still choose to not accept returns?

You are not required to accept returns for “change of mind” (remorse).

Well no, change of mind you don't need to accept

I'm a bit confused about what ebay plus actually is -  first it says it will be automatically applied to some listings - and then somewhere else, you have to pay $49 to subscribe.

The buyer has to pay to subscribe to the system.....not the seller.

I wonder how many will do so.....it is not worth it as far as I can see.

How do you see if it's on your items or not? I can't see anything new on mine, but was hoping to be included.

You cannot be included because your listings say no returns.

We will automatically opt in listings offering a best-in-class retail experience on eBay, including the best customer experience. Criteria to be part of the program include (but are not limited to):

  • Sellers who are Above Standard or eBay Top Rated (eTRS)
  • New and fixed priced listings
  • Returns are accepted
  • The item is located in Australia
  • Item is non-bulky or heavy.

I do accept returns on new items, not pre-loved. Does that mean we have to accept for all? Oh dear...
