Honestly being a seller is not all that bad. There's just a few simple rules.

Don't sell items that attract unscrupulous buyers

Don't listen to buyer requests that cost you extra money or time

And lastly do not read the forums as being in the dark is not a bad thing

The rules of buying seem much simpler to me. 🙂

I wonder every time I contact a seller with a question how it will be received.  Do they think I'm being a nuisance?  Or when it comes to asking whether they might forgo registered post or the GSP, do some write me off as a scammer?  I suspect so, drat it.  In my case it comes down to mobility issues for registered post, and paying through the nose for a slow GSP system.  Thankfully not all sellers say no though.

I'm not sure why being in the dark is a good thing.  I am in the dark about most selling procedures as they don't concern me.  I don't read all the forum posts.  But feedback does concern me and I don't want to inadvertently do the wrong thing by sellers due to ignorance.  Theres much written about Us and Them - but buyers need sellers and vice versa. 🙂

Any question that gets you a sale is more than welcome. Asking about postage options is normal and most likely is due to the fact not all sellers use the same method or factor in all available options. These kinds of questions are normal, its the ones that go back and forward and before long you realise you wasted hours on a $5 item.

Mosty sellers will not encounter many issues so reading a forum full of potential problems that others have had may make them worry for no reason. Plus make them question a buyers motive on a simple request that previously they would never have gave a second thought.
