I've had a really good start to March and I've caught up to my long-term average. My sales are up and down like a yo-yo at the best of times but when ebay are favouring me I sell all sorts of things, including the stuff that's usually slow. Things definitely sell better when I put my prices up so I'm thinking that it might pay to lower prices when things are slow, just so I can put them up again to get things moving.
@ eol, you have no say in it. Ebay seem to determine it when you open your account, or when you sign up for selling. I looked in the seller centre and all it says is that you'll be either invoiced to the 15th or the end of the month. I think it used to say that half of sellers are on each date, which would make sense as they'd want to spread the load a bit.
I checked my ebay inbox and on my Feb invoice (for up to 15th Feb) it said if I didn't pay beforehand they'd deduct it from my credit card between the 23rd and 25th.

Thanks yeah that's what I thought. I might change mine back to manual to give me more time to pay. Delaying the inevitable 😂

I referred to when they invoice, not when they take the money if you've got automatic payments set up.
Mine are set up to be taken from my credit card but I always make a one-time paypal payment before they take it off my card. I think it'd be deducted between the 8th and a few days later if I left it to come off my card but I can't be bothered checking old emails.
Okay sorry. I get invoiced mid month. I just assumed everyone did

I just removed the paypal backup source which then the payment was declined giving me the extra time.

You still have to pay by the due date.
You will now have a declined payment on your record but the payment is still due.

I have automatic payment in place so doe not show a due date just a date in will come out. When the paypal payment has not gone through it will give you to the end of the month with more warnings as it gets closer.
I may have a number of declined payments on my record but it is for automatic payment so not sure if it would have any effect on my account. I don't think it matters as I was still invited to the latest ebay breakfast workshop but due to the current situation has now been cancelled. Damn I was looking forward to a fee breakfast in the city.

You get up to 15 days from the invoice date when they issue the invoice, according to what I've pasted in below, or that's how I read it. I assume they wouldn't be considered late or unpaid until after 15 days. They say invoices are issued on the 15th or on the last day of the month but in reality they usually don't send invoices for at least 2 or 3 days. It's all found on this page: https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/invoices-paying-your-fees It's under the section for private sellers but I assume business sellers would be the same. I can't find anything under business sellers. According to them, to be a business seller you have to have a pp business account so they probably don't consider most of us to be business sellers just because we have a store.
On that page they have a table showing when they deduct the fees according to what sort of account your fees are automatically deducted from. It also says you have to be set for automatic deduction but you can change it at any time (meaning where they deduct it from). You can choose which day of the month it comes out if you're set up for automatic direct debits but they may limit exactly which days you can choose.
"Once you've set up your automatic payment method, we’ll collect whatever you owe automatically within 15 days of you receiving the invoice, so you don’t have to do anything."
Late or Unpaid Fees
Until we receive your payment, you won't be able to list any new items. We may still charge any outstanding fees for sales from open listings and subscriptions, so make sure you pay as quickly as possible.
If you don’t pay your selling fees, we may suspend your account. We’ll send reminders and warnings first, but if you continue not to pay, we reserve the right to refer your account to a debt collection agency. This agency will charge you an additional fee for collecting any unpaid fees, depending on how much you owe.

It may have changed but I don't have a PP business account but do have one ebay business account. I have noticed the non business account gets the same business account emails.
I have dragged out the payment of ebay fees a few times and even though they give a date every day they send reminders when you have about five days left. I would never go over the date though.

Why?
Don't you factor your fees into your business model?

Re having a pp business account that may have changed. I wanted to start my own website on a particular site a few years ago but I couldn't do it unless I had a pp business account. I asked the website about it and they said pp told them people had to have it. I did create a website on another site after that and didn't need it. I later ditched the website when they changed their rules but I hadn't used it much anyway.
I don't have a business account with ebay and I get all their business emails so I don't think they know what their own definition of a business account is.
