Has anyone noticed is general that auspost in vic are so good with tracking vs other states?? (Ps this was even before covid)I have send many packages over the years and have found vic super good with logging movements vs other states were the package basically goes untracked qld are the worst I have found you get a lodgement at lpo and then nothing till it hits vic in my state. There can at times be days with out any record of movements.

Kind of mate, depends which facility, I am based in VIC and I will always get a Perth and NSW scan at facility but sometimes at VIC, never in QLD.

Nope, not particularly. They all seem to have their moments.

i'm in WA and send all items Express Post - as of today - parcels going to Victoria or from Victoria -> WA Express are taking up to a week or longer for delivery. also seeing lack of scans, with none usually apart from the lodgement scan, then one in the destination city.

I EP'd an item from SA to Melbourne yesterday (Monday), it reached a sorting facility earlier this morning and is showing that delivery is expected tomorrow.

Just checked one of my listings and destination postcode seems to count for squat.

My postcode Estimated between Thu. 20 Aug. and Fri. 27 Aug

VIC is showing Estimated between Thu. 20 Aug. and Fri. 28 Aug

WA is showing Estimated betweenThu. 20 Aug. and Fri. 27 Aug

How can multi billion dollar companies be so damned sloppy ?

A lot of buyers have actually reported that their ETA changes (to a longer timeframe) once an item is purchased - I haven't actually checked this myself so can't say for sure, but it sounds like something eBay would do, since it's the least helpful way they could have extended ETAs.

I sent express post NSW to WA yesterday, ETA in the My Post app is saying delivery Thursday. I highly doubt it. Tracking is still just showing a lodgement scan. I hope the buyer doesn't blame me for any delays.

Why wouldn't they blame you? You're the seller—who else could possibly be at fault! Smiley LOL

We send mostly small packets 100-200g and now that posties are delivering the small stuff up to 500g delivery is basically a letter service and delivery times normal.

Larger stuff and anything boxed is by far the bulk of Australia Post deliveries at present with last mile by contractors, so if your orders are in this space that is probably why the lengthy delays.

I have noticed this also as a seller; but if you mark it as sent, say 2 days into your 5-day handling time, they sometimes change it to a shorter timeframe.

It's not consistent, though.

I sent 2 packages to Victoria last Wednesday. One is onboard for delivery today. The other is still in Sydney. At Chullora. Probably stuck on the roundabout. Despite being sent at exactly the same time, the one being delivered today went via Strathfield.
