I know you are new to the boards but you have dragged up a 7+ year old thread to add absolutely nothing of value.

Exactly. I bet the 2012 ebay fees prices are now looking pretty good to the OP.Smiley Very Happy

Stop bringing up the date. Who cares. I hope to use an old thread when feebay increases fees.

Smart people care. Those who don't want to see newbies sucked in to thinking that situations and fees that applied years ago apply now.

Of course, if you only want to vent, then dragging up no longer current historical information would probably suit you.

I just started selling. The first item I was shocked so tried to factor it in for the second but the shipping weight cost me an extra $3. The insertion fee + final fee + paypal fee + postage was $20 all up... the item sold for $48 total. So I got $28. Really though? Ebay and Paypal had to make $8.50 off a $40 sale... wow you must have trouble even seeing the roof in their office, waterfalls and gold statues in the bathrooms hey

Why were you charged insertion fees? You get 40 free listings per month.

As for the rest, try selling from a B&M and see what your overheads are.

What do you mean?

I sold 2 shoes @ $550 each and got necked with a $55 FVF each, got over 10% taken off me for FVF shipping because I had shipping set to $20ea($2.18 per item) and paypal still took 4% off me.

I'm kind of in awe that you guys had it easier with bigger ticket items.

This is a 10 year old thread darrel - please start a new one if you want, not much on here is going to be relevant now
