Assuming you fully completed, and were verified for Managed Payments before you listed the item, the hold will be 30 days since you are a new seller

If you did not sign up for and be verified for Managed Payments, you will not be paid since the money has nowhere to go

Do you mean the buyer hasn't paid or the hold on you payments as a new seller - which can be as long as 30 days.
