I cant find a pick up option so it only shows $24.95 for 100 or $60 for 400 which will be 15c each. Its a good saving if you dont care about the ebay logo but I prefer the plain as they are slightly longer and can be reused with 2 sealing strips.

You won't find a pick-up option as they are only available from the Australia Post online shop. They're not $24.95 for 100, they're $15 for 100 as previously stated.

I don't know about you, but as well as flat rate satchels I actually use numerous other items from within the Australia Post product range... such as prepaid express post envelopes, prepaid envelopes with tracking, priority labels, registered Post labels, etc.. It really doesn't take much to hit the $60+ free shipping mark - especially when the AP product range is not limited to postage products.

Personally, I prefer the eBay logo to be on items I have sold via eBay... and not just on the satchels, but the eBay Plus packaging tape as well. Customers like to see that they're item wasn't drop shipped. Of course, I don't use the eBay branded products for items I sell on other platforms.

Given that the price of $0.15 is more than double an unbranded satchel (not flat rate), I definitely never use the eBay satchels for any item which weighs under 500g.

I do not buy these through ebay. Considering that AP increase the price of these by around 10% p.a.

there are some savvy people who use this as an investment, I think.

10% is a damn good return, far better than the banks and of course if the prices increase in July, they increase their prices.

But I digress. I guess that what I am saying is that I have never used satchels and then printed labels.

I have recently had to use ebays printed labels for much larger items, I am not keen to give any further profits to ebay.

I guess that I am missing something glaringly obvious though.

Also if you buy them from ebay, do you have to use their postage labels

Currently, until the end of May, the standard postage cost of an "Australia Post Standard Extra Small Satchel" is $4.28.

(in June, the postage cost goes up to $8.55)

To use the Extra Small satchels, you need:

• A supply of Extra Small satchels ( https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/156809961000 )
• Buy your postage label via eBay (via the "Get Postage Label" function on your order screen
• A way to print it out and attach it to the Extra Small satchel.
  (I use a laser printer, and glue the label to the satchel)

So my cost to ship a CD is $4.53 ($4.28 post and $0.25 for the satchel).

Have you considered setting up an AusPost My Business account to integrate with your eBay?  You might be able to save some money that way.

I'm not sure if you could find something to sell on ebay that would come close to 5kg that would fit into the satchel. My heaviest item that will fit is 1.8kgs.

Of course it is great to get the discount on ebay’s postage, even though I dislike using them.

I wonder about after the 31/5/25, you have not built ebays postage fees into your postage price.

This is an added expense which none of us need.

I like the pre paid satchels because they cover all over Australia and I can’t be bothered working out prices for different zones.
