The trouble is that these extra small ebay satchels have on them:

"For use with flat rate postage labels printable via ebay."

So Australia Post may be sticky about using them using Aust Post MyPostBusiness labels.    I suppose we can ask them after 1 July, or it may become clearer on their site then.

The good news is you can use the ebay portal and use the ebay XS satchels for $8.55 postage, which is still a small saving.

Thank you both. I have just found the latest AP wonderful price increase list from 1/7/25.

The information is all on there, as far as I can make out it should be fine to use these satchels with AP.

They will also be selling prepaid ones at $9.70 each.

Sorry, I am mistaken. The $9.70 is the postage price only.

Satchel and postage is $10.05.

I am not sure about using these ebay satchels through AP, after reading back a bit further in this thread.

I intended giving some of these to my daughter to use, she has an AP business account.

But she will not be interested if she has to use ebay postage labels.

I suppose eventually AP will be able to tell us.

I have just found this link, which hopefully should answer most of the questions which others and myself have been asking.

yes - that has always been my understanding - that you can use AP MyPost Business labels or ebay labels with the ebay satchels. i think the confusion in this thread by some was because at this point in time - AP MyPost Business does not have any capability to print the labels for the XS Satchel, so as it is now - you need to print labels via ebay to use the satchel. (the page you linked to mentions 4 sizes which are currently small, medium, large and extra large).

sometime after july 1st, once Australia Posts price changes are made - they are going to have an XS Small Satchel released themselves (like they do now which is the same size as the ebay ones). then the ability will be there to print labels via MyPost Business. the only good news is that there will also be a "use your own packaging" option for items under 250g, which will make for the cheapest parcel sending option.

thanks very much for posting the info here 🙂

I don’t think that 250gm is the issue as far as I understand, even though some of the extra small ebay satchels were printed 250gm, this was a misprint and you can send up to 5kg, although it is difficult to imagine anything of that weight fitting into these satchels.

Oh where did I put those lead fishing weights 🙂

So I guess that the size of the package is vital, which should measure no more than the XS satchels, rather than the weight.

I think if people are packing an item up to 250gm in any size box, they will be in for a nasty surprise.
